  1. Wonderful ep, per usual. I just adore the fact that you’re using “The Time Machine” to weight down the yarn box!

  2. Tara says:

Hoping to try machine knitting in the future looking into purchasing a machine it looks a lot easer since I’ve seen someone else do it. Does anyone have an approximate cost in Canadian dollars for a machine?

  3. Tanu says:

If i’m still in Rhinebeck at 3, i’ll see you there!

  4. Susan Hardy says:

I loved the bloopers! Are you guys sure you havent had a drop of wine before filming LOL! Have a great time at Rhinebeck, its not fair!

  5. Melissa says:

I loved seeing the knitting machine on this episode. I’ve never seen one before. Very interesting!

  6. Teresa says:

So glad you covered a knitting machine but I’m wondering why you have to do the waste yarn part. Sorry, but I don’t know a thing about machine knitting. Thanks so much.

  7. Kristie says:

Loved your machine knitting demonstration and the bloopers. This was the first episode in quite awhile that didn’t buffer several times. This one didn’t even buffer once. I don’t know what you did differently, but it was great.

You have the most beautiful hair.

I’m looking forward to your 2009 Rhinebeck episodes. Hope the weather there didn’t make your cough worse.

  8. Lisa Smith says:

I have never entered a competition. I don’t feel my work is up to competition level at this point in my knitting adventure.

    Love your podcasts!

  9. kelly says:

I’ve been wanting to see how a knitting machine works. Thanks for the information, (and the bloopers). It’s good to see you guys are “normal”, whatever that is. Betsy in Spokane

  12. megan says:

Oh great, Now I think I need one of those…

  13. I have always wanted a machine knitter. Great episode!!! I always love the bloopers but this is the best!!!

  14. Debbi says:

Saw a picture of you on the bigsock blog! thought I’d make sure to share it with you 🙂 http://big-sock.blogspot.com/2009/10/stamping-mark-at-rhinebeck-2009.html

  15. Sharon says:

This was a funny episode! I didn’t feel you are on the best of terms with the knitting machine! Needles are really better and don’t fight back. Keep up your great work, I’m learning so much from your episodes

  16. Ruth says:

I’m fascinated by knitting machines — and they are really coming down in price, but, I’m more interested in process than product, so guess I’ll keep on with the needles!

  17. Maryann says:

Fascinating episode–I’ve always been curious about knitting machines. Cat–you are such a good sport! Love the bloopers!

  18. Nick says:

    Hi CAT,

WOW. Those shows you sent were really great!

Watched the episodes with my girls (Ariana 12, Svetlana 9) and their eyes lit up. We liked all the episodes especially the outtakes, but my personal favorite so far is “bling-bling-knitting-with-beads”.

Now that the girls are showing interest, can you direct me to episodes geared more towards knitting 101 if you’ve made any. Tried a search in the archives but wasn’t sure exactly what words to search on.

We’re going shopping on Saturday to buy the necessities, so if you have a list of “beginner must-haves”, and are inclined to share, that would be great as well.

Thanks again CAT. I’ll show Sue the episodes as well when I see her.

    Best to you and Eric,

    Nick

  19. Erika B says:

I have that machine! I found it at a garage sale (actually found and bought 2 in one week!) but I don’t have the instructions for this one, so I’ve been winging it. I loved your show! I’m not sure my hubby likes that you keep feeding my fiber needs with more ideas, though! lol!
